The Password Generator creates strong, random passwords with customizable length, character sets, and complexity rules using the browser Web Crypto API. An entropy meter plus a dictionary-aware strength check flag obvious weaknesses such as common sequences, all-digit patterns, and repeated characters. Supports bulk generation of up to 50 passwords at once with a copy-all action. Passwords are generated locally and never transmitted or logged anywhere.

How random are the generated passwords?

Passwords are generated using the browser Web Crypto API which provides cryptographically secure randomness — the same standard used by professional password managers.

What makes a password strong?

Length (12+ characters), a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols, and avoiding dictionary words. A 16-character random password is effectively impossible to brute-force with current hardware.

How does the dictionary-aware strength check work?

The checker starts from the raw entropy bits and subtracts penalties for all-lowercase or all-digit strings, short length, repeated characters, and common sequences like 'qwerty', 'password', '123', 'abc', 'admin', and 'letmein'. The adjusted score is mapped to Very weak, Weak, Fair, Strong, or Very strong — so a password that looks mathematically long but contains an obvious word still gets flagged.

Can I generate multiple passwords at once?

Yes. Set the Count field to any value between 1 and 50 and the tool will produce that many passwords in a scrollable list, each with its own copy button plus a Copy all action.

Are the passwords stored anywhere?

No. Generation happens entirely in your browser and the password is never sent to any server.

How many combinations does a 16-character password have?

With all character types (94 printable ASCII characters), a 16-character password has 94 to the power of 16, roughly 3.7 times 10 to the 31st power — effectively uncrackable.
